Through the constant inspiration of nature, animals and my dogs, I interpret the spirit around me into jewelry, using my love of stones and shaping metal.  My designs and metal work incorporate the use of cut and natural stones to reflect the peace, love and joy of nature.

As a child I spent a great deal of time outside when I wasn’t digging through my mother’s jewelry box.   The textures of nature, the movement of water, and the freedom of animals are reflected in my work.

The color, feel and shape of natural, polished uncut stones as well as more traditional stones become the centerpiece or inspiration for a new design.  I often cannot resist a little sparkle, so small faceted stones often show up in my designs.

I love to travel and learn about cultures and their connection with nature and the spirit world.  These influences show up in my work.

My current work blends the flowing movements of water, with the texture of the trees and plants, and the influence of a Japanese artist who was one of my first mentors. My work is crafted using traditional metal smithing and modern metal clay techniques which me freedom to create jewelry which is inspired by the life around us and speaks to the soul.

However, in my Cherished Paws Jewelry my dogs become center stage. They inspire me through the love and enrichment they provide to our lives. Each one has been special and unique and have left paw prints on my heart.
